Happy Birthday Kayla

Happy Birthday to my sweet, smart, talented, beautiful Kayla. I remember several years ago we thought we were likely done having children and Jana knew there was another one she was supposed to have. I am so very glad she was so in tune because otherwise we would not have Kayla who brings so much happiness to our lives. I love you Kayla.

Lindsey

Congratulations to my sister Lindsey. She has been accepted to the SJ Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. It will be fun to have a fellow lawyer as a sibling. Lindsey is one of the smartest and hardest working people I know. She was on the wait list for the U and just found out she got in. Congratulations!!!

Happy Birthday Andrew
Happy 15th birthday to my awesome son Andrew today. I can't believe I will soon have a son in high school. Andrew is the ideal son and we are very lucky to have him as part of our family. Below are some pictures of him over the years. It is quite a feat that I found so many because he runs and ducks at the sight of a camera. I love you Andrew. I hope you have a perfect day for your birthday.

Kayla and Tyler
On Saturday Tyler and I went to Farmington to my sister Lindsey's house for my nephew Nicholas' birthday party. All the boy cousins were invited. My mom took the great picture of Tyler below. He is such an awesome kid. Then later that night Jana and Kayla went out to Stansbury Park to my sister Jessica's house for a wedding shower for my niece Chelsea. At that party my mom took the black and white picture of Kayla below. She is such a beautiful sweet girl and I am a lucky dad.

Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary this week to my beautiful wife Jana. It seems like yesterday we were married but it was 18 years ago that we were married and went to Ensenada for our honeymoon. Thanks for sticking with me all this time (which is certainly not easy I know) and for giving me the best family ever. I love you still today.

Genealogy
My brother Jason recently discovered that we are related to James Dean, Grace Kelly and Lyndon B. Johnson. I guess with 6 degrees of separation we are all related, right? You can see it better if you click on the image.
Kayla
Every once-in-a-while I will not be able to find my phone. When I find it later, there is always a picture like this on it. Kayla takes the phone and takes pictures of herself. Funny.

Mediterranean Cruise
Here are some pictures of our fun 8 day Mediterranean cruise Jana and I went on with USANA. We started and ended in Barcelona, Spain and visited Naples, Rome and Florence Italy then Nice and Marseille France. Andrew stayed half the time with my sister and the rest of the time with Jana's dad and his wife. Kayal and Tyler spent the whole time with her dad. We had a great time.
I found the mythology and pagan items in the Vatican interesting. This is Perseus cutting off the head of Medusa (which I mainly know not because of our museum guide but because I watched Clash of the Titans as a kid).
I think this was Rome

Colosseum

This was just sitting there at the Colosseum and it made me think of whoever was wearing it thousands of years ago
Aaron Dihn (Diamond Distributor). The large yellow things I think are a type of Lemon. In Sorrento, Italy they are famous for a lemon liquor
Traci, Mark and Tenisha Wilson, Jim, Colton Wilson, Shannon and Jeff Yates at Pompei
A child preserved forever in Ash that has petrified at Pompei
More people preserved in the poses they were in as they were covered with burning ash from Mt Vesuvias in Pompei.

Distributors in Pompei

This was a street in Pompei with residential houses and cafés. Over 20,000 people lived in Pompei
Jana and I in Naples, Italy (I think)

In Napels or Sorrento. Instead of carving their initials, lovers put their names on locks and place them on the guard rails.
Shannon and Jeff at an outdoor market in Marseille, France
These types of fountains were everywhere in France and Italy

I think this is Nice, France
Cathedral in Florence, Italy. It is one of the top 3 largest cathedrals in the world. We saw all 3 on this trip (the other two being Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and St. Peter's Bascillica in the Vatican.)
Jana and the leaning tower of Pisa with an awesome stormy sky

I loved all the little gothic and dark scenes on all the cathedrals and other religious buildings.

Jana caught me on video as I was learning how to ride the segway. It takes about 10 minutes to get your balance so I was practicing to learn how before we took off to explore Rome for the day.
